Knauf Integral
The KNAUF Group, with its headquarters in Iphofen, is now a synonym for the raw material gypsum. The company’s success story began in 1932 when an initial gypsum pit was opened in Schengen and a gypsum plaster factory was built in Perl on the Moselle. More than 80 years later, the KNAUF Group has more than 220 production facilities and sales organisations in more than 80 countries with 26.500 employees. In addition to plasters and accessories, the factories produce modern dry wall systems, thermal insulation composite systems, paints, floor screed and floor systems, as well as insulation materials. As part of the globally operating group, KNAUF Integral is the competence centre for the production of the high-tech gypsum fibre material GIFAtec®. Due to its unique material properties, the material is primarily used in public buildings and music halls. The composition was changed specifically for the major project of the »white skin« in Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, and a lighter material was produced.
