Surgery Prof. Dr. Schnorbach
It is of particular importance especially in dental surgeries to evoke a good feeling in patients by welcoming them in a reception area that is individual, friendly and modern. The surgery of Prof. Dr. Schnorbach & Kollegen in Karlsruhe achieves this with an atmosphere of lightness, freshness and flowing elements.
Counter with hovering appearance
The colours white and sky blue of course play the key role where a new reception area in a centre for dental implants and aesthetic dental care is to be realised under the title »Dream Cloud«. »We needed to create for our clients a spacey impression that would have an immediate impact«, explained Rudi Kassel from the architectural office Herzog, Kassel und Partner from Karlsruhe. Together with Ruf Manufacture in Karlsruhe a reception area was created that thanks to its extensive window front offers a clear view of the interior thus embodying a powerful optical calling card. Lightness and elegance were decisive criteria during the conception and implementation phase. The curved reception counter, for example, with its designer rear wall against a friendly blue background really does seem to float in the air.

jointless conception
Ruf Manufacture commissioned Hasenkopf Industrie Manufaktur with the 3-D moulding of the reception counter front. The polished Corian used for the construction clearly enhances the three-dimensional effect. The seamless look of the counter in Glacier White, made possible by on-site bonding, also plays a decisive role here. The powerful conceptual orientation of the architects clearly comes into its own in the overall impression, as Rudi Kassel stresses: »We place great significance on the design phase, whether in architecture or interior design. Consistent realisation of the crucial design is of the essence.«

The Corian counter convinces with its monolithic appearance.
nominated for ZWP-DESIGN award
It took twelve months from the first draft to the realisation; a period in which the expertise and many years of experience in the field of »surgery décor and furnishings« of the two lead companies clearly played a decisive role. The result not only delights the patients, it was also nominated for the ZWP Design Award 2012 as well as being included in the yearbook of the German Interior Designer Association (BDIA) 2012/2013. The concept »Dream Cloud« blurs spatial limitations and provides the desired lightness. The white furniture and wall elements give the room concept structure and the ingenious large-scale light design contributes to evoking an atmosphere that is friendly while at the same time fresh.
