Concept Kitchen - kitchen with corian worktop
Mobility, speed and flexibility constitute an important part of the world we live in today. Nevertheless, even business nomads and people who are willing to accept change still wish to be surrounded by things they value. In this respect the kitchen can and should take on a special role. The company Naber has realised a project that focuses on the kitchen of the future.
MOBILE kitchen with clear curves
Hans-Joachim Naber explains the aim here as follows: »With our Concept Kitchen we wish to help our partners find a new client base among customers who currently purchase this type of furniture and their kitchen fittings from other channels.« The recipe could not be simpler: the development of a mobile metal kitchen that is flexible, easy to transport and is universally adaptable. Light and open with clear lines and minimalist in design. Simply different. Like the users themselves. The people from Nordhorn managed to bring Kilian Schindler on board for the design of the Concept Kitchen, a designer they had cooperated with successfully in the past. Together they intended to create a modular kitchen. »No rush job, a rarity in this day and age, instead a project that was to be implemented consistently and then launched on the market«, reason enough to get Kilian Schindler’s attention.
persuasion by haptics
The vision was »to offer a self-assured alternative concept to the standard fitted kitchen units; a mobile modular system for modern-day nomads«. Apart from the use of stainless steel for the supporting elements the designer Kilian Schindler wished to use a material that had a lot of colour and processing features and a pleasant feel for the work surfaces and storage boxes. High-quality Corian was the predestined choice. Naber selected Hasenkopf Industrie-Manufaktur as its cooperation partner due to this company’s convincing affinity for design, its competent representation and multitude of processing options. The fact that the companies Hasenkopf and Naber have been in close personal contact for many years only made the choice easier. The commercial project management at Hasenkopf ensured fast decision-making within the cooperation.
GERMAN DESIGN AWARD GOLD
Even though the individual objects might appear simple, they also show precision and quality. The extremely good cost-performance ratio at Hasenkopf was a decisive factor for both individual and larger quantities. »Competence in operational performance, the manufacture of precision pieces and punctual delivery in secure transport packaging, quality and expertise in the handling of the material« all adds up to a holistic testimony of quality in the opinion of Naber and Schindler. Time-wise things got a bit tight. But the project was never endangered recalls Hans-Joachim Naber: »Hasenkopf took up the challenge and was always in a position to handle the project reliably and at short notice.« Timely realisation of technically uncomplicated objects are all part of the daily business at Hasenkopf. Concept Kitchen won the German Design Award in Gold. The kitchens in the Concept Kitchen series will be available on the market as of spring 2013.
