The Elbphilharmonie instantly captivates every visitor with its breath-taking architecture. The architects Herzog & de Meuron set new standards in architecture and design, and not only in the Grand Hall.
As soon as a visitor enters the reception and ticketing area, they will feel the incomparable flair of Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie. Only top-quality materials were used for the interior design of the public plaza, the cafés and the cloakrooms. Thus, a variety of counters made from the material Corian from the contractor Cserni Wohnen GmbH, Fehring, have been installed. For the production of the very glossy Corian outer shells, Cserni relied on the pronounced experience of Hasenkopf.
Brilliant views: The counters are so glossy that you can even see Hamburg’s reflection in them.
high gloss finishes
In the case of elaborate high gloss finishes, the material has to be processed and glued extremely precisely for elaborate high gloss finishes. Even the smallest of irregularities are visible due to the light reflections and thus disrupt the homogenous appearance. A total of 15 black counters in the colour Deep Nocturne and 5 white counters in Glacier White were produced according to the architects’ designs. The shortest counter is a good 3 m long; the longest measures 21 m. All the counters end in a thermally formed, round cabinet element and some are equipped with a partition, reversible covers or draw fronts made from high-gloss Corian.
