Grünbeck Forum - Flowing Design with corian

If water is the passion of a company and knowledge of this medium is to be passed on from one person to the next, then a training centre is needed whose organic, expressive and flowing design places the core topic of water firmly in the centre of attention.

Idea: jointless furniture and interior fittings

The Grünbeck Forum is a four-storey, approximately 1,600 m² centre of knowledge in which people and water play the key role. That is why the architectural team Obel and Partner favoured a holistic approach that would always keep the focus on these two core topics. The designer Richard Kende says: »A seamless design in timeless white was implemented consistently for all fittings and furnishings. First and foremost our task was to create an interior design that projected the close affinity with the medium water while at the same time projecting the company’s great capacity for innovation in all aspects of this medium.«

MATERIAls: CORIAN, wood aND LEather

The furniture maker Herrmann – die Möbelwerkstätte from Wörnitzostheim was commissioned with the realisation of the interior fittings. According to the managing director Erwin Gufler the intention with this »challenging project was to use the interplay of different materials – primarily Corian, wood and leather – to create a harmonious image reflecting both traditional wood craftsmanship and modern plastic surfaces«.

Hasenkopf Industrie Manufaktur was entrusted with the realisation of the thermally formed Corian elements in Designer White and Glacier White. Corian was formed and used among other things for the oval reception counter, the round coffee tables, the seating, the buffet furnishings and the brochure racks. Partly with milled lettering, partly with metal fittings for moving the items. The distinctive soda-jet was produced as a free-standing element with a central partition and shelving made of Corian including housing for the on-site installations.

Adherence to schedule to success

»Top priority was given to quality and reliability in this project«, stresses Erwin Gufler, »and the customer gave us a very tight deadline for executing it. However, thanks to the reliability, fast exchange of data, rapid technical preparation and competent advice of the Hasenkopf team we were able to meet all our deadlines, despite changes required at short notice. And always with guaranteed top quality.« The Grünbeck Forum is a prestigious building that reflects how essential the passing on of knowledge about the medium water is for the company.
