Durability and long-lasting surfaces

The requirements catalogue for the redesign of Jäggi Optik in Chur, Switzerland, had been planned in a rather comprehensive and meticulous manner. Together with the architect Max Sennhauser, the joinery Knuchel AG, Chur, defined a bright store design, which apart from design and ease of operation also was to guarantee the durability and long service life of the surfaces. The choice of material came down to the solid surface material HI-MACS® in Alpine White, which meets highest demands on durability and hygiene.

Right from the start, the cooperation with Hasenkopf Industrie Manufaktur was very committed, because speed was top priority. At Hasenkopf, drawers with milled pockets for the presentation of glasses were accurately made to measure. Presentation wall, glass display cabinet, furniture elements inside the refraction room, attachable and consulting tables, wall with cabinet and complete drawers, multimedia cube, sideboards – all individual pieces, which in their overall appearance demonstrate the clarity in the room and radiate expertise, are made of the solid surface material Himacs. Especially at a specialist optician, the accurateness of processing plays a crucial role because it will always be keenly noticed.
